The Path of the Warrior

The Path of the Warrior - Coming to Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation on July 26, 2014 - Volunteers needed

The Lenni Lenape Warrior Trail is about a return to the child-like sense of adventure that many may have lost because of everyday routines.  The Lenni Lenape Warrior Trail wants to keep this sense of adventure alive in our youth BEFORE they lose it. This is a day filled with fun and adventure as our Cub Scouts embark on an obstacle course. With their adult partner, the boys can also go to the lake for fishing, the bb gun and archery ranges, and try tomahawk throwing.

The committee for the Lenni Lenape Warrior Trail needs your help to make this possible. If interested in assisting with this adventure day, we would love to have you on the volunteer staff. In return for volunteering, you will receive a Lenni Lenape Warrior Trail T-shirt and the satisfaction of being a part of this adventure day in its infancy. You may also contribute to the all day pot-luck picnic for staff and partake in the enjoyment of new friends and fellowship.

Please contact Tim Barrett at 610-367-5091 to volunteer or for more information.
The Trainer's Edge Training Course

The purpose of the Trainer's EDGE course is to provide and help develop the platform skills of a trainer. This course is intended to "train the trainer" on behaviors and resources while offering hands-on experience in methods and media. You will have the opportunity to be in front of the group. The group will offer feedback that will help you improve your skills as a trainer. Feedback is a gift. We want to make sure it is given in a positive, helpful way. Sign-up for our May 31, 2014 course TODAY!

2014 Popcorn Sale

Spring has just begun and the 2014 popcorn sale may seem a long way off, but it is never too early to start planning for a successful popcorn sale.

What should you be doing right now to ensure a successful, profitable sale?

Identify a popcorn chairman for your unit and a popcorn representative from each den (other than the den leader).   These parents will help with all of the popcorn activities and help to drive communications at the den level on a weekly basis.

Hold an information meeting with the popcorn den reps in May to present timing and items to be addressed in the fall.

Put these key dates on your calendar:

May 18, 4:00 PM, Schuylkill Valley Middle School, Michael Beck Seminar.  Your unit will earn an additional 2% commission for attending this seminar.

July 30, 6:00 PM, First Energy Stadium, Popcorn Kick-off.

Based on your suggestions the 24 pack Variety Microwave Popcorn and the 24 pack Movie Theater Extra Butter Microwave Popcorn will be available for "Show and Sell".   We will also have a Cinnamon Crunch Tin available for Show and Sell only.

We want to share the "best practices" from successful popcorn sales with you in future Scoutwires.  Please complete the a short survey to help us gather this information.   Your opinions are important to us.
