Fall Membership
|
Your council and district membership committee volunteers have been working hard with the District Executives to prepare for our Fall Membership Drive. This month, thousands of elementary aged kids have had or will have the opportunity to join our wonderful organization. It is not to late for Unit leaders to communicate with District Executives to schedule Cub Scout Talks and Sign Up nights in September or early October. We have FREE Cub Scout promotional materials at the Council Service Center to help you spread the word in your communities. Call your District Executive to pick up posters, yard signs, or business cards.
We are continuing to recruit and offer the kindergarten age, Lion Cub program. Jerry Beaver, Pack 652 and Bill Tarapchak, Pack 597 both endorse the program and say, "Having parents help in the Lion Cub program makes it easier the following year to recruit Tiger leaders." Debbie Smith and her committee have been working hard to make the program even better than last year. BSA Registration Fees for Lions are the same as all other Cub Scouts.
Don't forget the big kids, we can always recruit Boy Scouts, Venturers, and Explorers to attend a meeting or go on an outing.
Please contact your District Executive if you have questions about membership opportunities.

2013 Popcorn Sale
|
We hope your Scouts have been busy selling popcorn. We have heard reports from some units that the Take Order sales are going very well and some Scouts are on their second or third order forms!
We have also heard the Show & Sell events have been very successful. Several units have contacted us for more popcorn. We have a limited amount of popcorn available for units that need to replenish their stock. As we fill these requests, our supply is diminishing. If you believe you have over ordered for your Show & Sell and will need to return popcorn to us, please let us know as soon as possible so we can help units that need more popcorn. Please email or call us to let us know what you would like to return. DO NOT RETURN the popcorn until you have contacted us and made arrangements for the return. This does not affect your ability to return any unopened cases October 16 - 18. We will still be accepting returns those days. The opportunity to return popcorn early is an attempt to help units that would like more popcorn for their Show & Sell days.
PLEASE DO NOT EXCHANGE
popcorn between pack to troop or unit to unit. By returning the product to us, we can redistribute and make the necessary corrections to your invoice. This way your unit invoice will reflect the correct total due council as well as any additional commission your unit has earned.
Please contact Donna Welsh at dwelsh@bsamail.org or 610-926-3406 to return popcorn or get additional product.
