Healthy Fast Food
Plain, Vanilla or Chocolate Flavors
I call this category of food cheaters as they offer a quick healthy option when life on the go gets the best of you.  Sunwarrior offers a raw sprouted allergen free protein sourced from rice.  It contains no harmful additives, no sugar (sweetened with Stevia) and comes in Plain, Vanilla or Chocolate.

Mix with fresh fruit some ice and water, or truly make it a meal with some almond or coconut milk.

Quality over Quantity When it Comes to Calories

Calories In - Calories Out = Weight Loss/Weight Gain Think again. The CONTENT of those calories is much more important than the quantity.  Did you know when you consume quality protein, you burn 25% of those calories just digesting and assimilating them?

Stop with the Calorie Counting

Glycemic Index or fat and calorie content should not be your primary criteria when making a food choice.  Instead, look at the nutritive value and the energy you derive from food.  Each bite should be intended as cellular fuel to nourish, build and heal the body. If you have to ask about the calorie content, you are looking at the wrong food groups.   For more detail read my Article:"How to Eat to Lose Weight"

Do's and Don'ts

You are unlikely to become overweight or fatigued if you feast on whole REAL food. You are also unlikely to become addicted to your calories if they are balanced choices from nature.

Eat:        Fruit, Vegetables, and Free range meats

Avoid:   Sugary, Starchy foods, Colas and Energy drinks.

Grains and dairy are absent not because you shouldn't eat them, but because they are not essential nutritional components as the same nutrients can be obtained from the Eat category above.  They also pose digestive and health challenges for many.  Watch the packaged items whose ingredients lists are littered with starchy, sugar fillers.  Maltodextrin is a great example.

Maltodextrin - highly refined corn, potato, rice, wheat or barley. Used as a bulking, filler agent in processed foods. - it offers no food value and increases the starch content triggering that fat storing insulin hormone.

Hormones

The "Avoid" category overstimulates some hormones and fails to trigger others leading to imbalances that impede health.   Understanding this concept as it pertains not only to weight, but to the early symptoms of "chronic disease"  can be the life changer.

Our bodies speak in hormones. If you want to change your health, weight, energy, your tomorrow, you must alter the internal conversations at a metabolic level.  Sugar, Caffeine, Artificial Additives, Medications, Alcohol, and Food Allergies all create excess chatter knocking hormones out of balance and causing symptoms to appear.  Start by cleaning up your diet and see if you can calm the internal conversations.  Simply eliminating the packages and eating and snacking on real food will add nutrition back to your meals and remove empty calories that contribute to poor health.  Healthy Foods List

The Sugar

Ditch the sugar, starches and chemistry projects in packaged foods for 30 days and see how your body rebounds.  Sugar has become a staple in the American diet and is taking its toll on our health at an alarming rate.

If you are still a skeptic on just how toxic sugar and all its look-a-likes really are.  You will want to scan this article from John R Talbott, another former skeptic, now a firm believer!   The 57 year old author ditched sugar, 50 lbs and his cravings for alcohol and nicotine.  John R Talbot: 60 Minutes Gets It Right....

Fuel For Thought
It stands to reason if you feed a young mind nutrient deficient food, it will function less proficiently.  Take it a step further and offer the nutrient depleted food to developing bones, brains, and systems. Then throw in some artificial additives.  Sugars, syrups, artificial sweeteners, fillers, colors, and unhealthy fat sources join forces with the absence of nutrients to make our kids overweight, depressed and now cognitively challenged.
