New IDEA Learning Center Now Open!

The IDEA Learning Center, located at Jacobs Hall B805 , is a space where engineering students can study and obtain FREE tutoring provided by our Engineering Honor Societies, Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu. The IDEA Learning Center will open for tutoring services starting week 2 of each quarter.

Amgen Scholars U.S. and Japan Programs

Now approaching its tenth summer, the Amgen Scholars Program continues to offer undergraduates the opportunity to collaborate with faculty at top institutions on cutting-edge scientific research. U.S. students may also apply to be Amgen Scholars at leading institutions in Japan: Kyoto University, and The University of Tokyo. UCLA RIPS Research Opportunity
Application Deadline: February 14, 2016

The Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IPAM) at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) runs a unique summer program for undergraduate students. The Research in Industrial Projects for Students (RIPS) provides an opportunity for exceptional students in math and related disciplines to work in teams on real world research projects proposed by a sponsor from industry or a national lab. Sponsors have included Google, Symantec, Los Alamos National Lab, the Aerospace Corporation, Los Angeles Police Department, Arete, IBM, and many others. View more info!

MTConnect Student Challenge
Ideas Competition Deadline: March 15, 2016
Application Development Deadline: July 15, 2016

Students can submit ideas and applications to win cash prizes totaling $33,000. MTConnect is an open, XML- and HTTP-based communications standard that works as the building block of the Industrial Internet of Things for manufacturing. The MTConnect Student Challenge an innovation competition that taps into students' creativity and technical skills through asking them to create and develop ideas and applications that utilize MTConnect, which enables communication between and data collection from manufacturing equipment and devices.
