Many of us are quite accustomed to the perennial back-to-school feeling at this time of year, whether we are students, parents, teachers, or long ago graduates from the school system. While travelling abroad this summer I was reminded how months, seasons, and even school years present
differently in different parts of the world.
While a particular time of year may signal specific transitions in one place, it may bring totally different changes in another place, or elsewhere, the season may shift with relatively little or no change at all in surroundings.
Likewise, as humans, each of us is travelling on our own path at our own pace. We may notice parallels between where we are on our personal journey and seasonal changes around us, or we may find inspiration in those shifts, but we need not feel bound to external timings or sequences. We are aligned with, and guided by, many forces. At any given time we may be reflecting, renewing, resting, releasing, rebirthing, planting, cultivating or harvesting, regardless of the earth's rotation or any calendar.
As we trust our own evolution, we are drawn to the people, places and experiences that nudge (or catapult) us forward when the timing is right for us. Hence our common connection with Welkin as readers of this newsletter, for we know that in Welkin exists a wellspring of opportunities in support of our journeys to wellness, peace and joy. Stay tuned year round for retreats, workshops and classes that call to you. Welkin is a centre for all our seasons!
Love and light,
Darlene Trottier
