Here's what we know:
1. Post-traumatic stress is a nasty beast (whether you fit the "clinical" diagnosis or not)
2. The symptoms are profoundly hard to deal with
3. The symptoms exist for a reason
4. The mind-body complex wants to get better
5. Complete healing is possible
...As I am writing this list, I realise there is much more that we know. We know how and why the symptoms happen. We know how to program the nervous system and brain to respond differently. We know how to make small but significant lifestyle shifts so that the trauma takes up less and less space in our lives.
Tomorrow begins the 4-part Yoga for Trauma series. I have only ever offered it once and was inspired by Theo Fleury, via his "Helping is Healing" slogan, to offer it again this year.
Last year, it was so well-received that by demand I knew I had to offer it again anyway [you know who you are! ;-)]
If you are struggling with nightmares, anger, feeling on-guard all the time, anxious, or like your life is narrowing, join me tomorrow from 10:30am-12:30pm to understand why those uncontrollable things happen and how to create more safety.
What we also know is that trauma unacknowledged and untreated ruins our lives and can literally kill us. You deserve better. It doesn't have to be via the Yoga for Trauma series, but I do encourage you to continue seeking support on your path out of trauma.
With Love,
Erin
PS - Remember there are meditation workshops running every Tuesday at 5:30pm this summer, offering you Tools for a Stress-Free Life. Similar to the trauma series, these help you examine and remove the underlying pains that cause stress.
