What Seeds Are You Watering?
Late spring is such a fun and exciting time for me.......prepping the vegetable garden, gently and lovingly transplanting tender seedlings that have been nurtured indoors and sowing seeds into carefully groomed rows. Then after watering the plants and the seeds it's with humbled anticipation checking each day to see if the seedlings will take to their new environment and the seeds will pop up or uncurl from the earth reaching up for the nourishment and warmth of the sun. Some come along quickly while others take their time when the conditions are just right. It is still with awe and wonder that I watch this blessing of nature take place each year.
Just as we sow seeds and nurture them in the garden, so do we water the seeds that nourish and promote well-being in ourselves.....seeds of compassion, understanding, loving kindness, selflessness etc.
What seeds are you watering these days? Perhaps there is a tiny seed of anger or frustration close to the surface but with coping tools to identify and understand the source of the feelings, we can avoid watering or cultivating those seeds. Just as with the seeds in the earth, we choose which seeds we water and cultivate, and with patience when the time is right, the benefits will be forthcoming.
Come join us for the Free Intro to the summer Meditation Program "Tools for a Stress-Free Life" at 5:30 tonight at Welkin and see if this is the time for you to explore different ways to water the seeds of peace and tranquility or whatever else will nourish you, help maintain a meditation practice and to learn about many other tools and techniques that support those needs and promote stress-free living.
I look forward to seeing you there and/or perhaps in the Sunday morning 10:00 a.m. Community Yoga and Meditation class, open to all as a Pay What You Can class or free for those in the program, a class that supports the program as well as your personal journey.
