July 2016 (Issue 61)
Greetings!

Welcome to our July Newsletter!

The Summer months continue to be busy for me at the Law Society and I am nearing the completion of the relationship management review I embarked on in January. How about you? I hope you've managed to have a summer break!

This month our network activity has continued to amplify. We held a Select CRM seminar with Gordon Miles (CEO of the Royal College of Emergancy Medicine), previewed key content in our proposed member engagement toolkit at the Electorol Reform Service's Challenge 2020 conference, championed the initiation of the CPD Standards Office's 'Moving CPD into the Digital Age' project and will deliver a keynote session at the Silverbear Customer Forum on Friday. One word for you - PHEW!

In this edition we profile an exciting new bespoke networking meeting concept (we want your input!), introduce our Harnessing the Web 2016 keynote speakers and sessions, highlight some great new Guest Blog articles and a video Insight featuring long standing member and advocate, Clare Hodgson, Professional Development Manager, ACCA, on evolving CPD and their exciting new HQ move!

I hope you enjoy reading our newsletter and if you would like to submit or suggest any future content please do get in touch!

We have some great topics planned, however we want your input before we publish the final programme:

Research - Future of Membership

Last Friday MemberWise Founder, Richard Gott and Joe Lynch, Commercial Director at the YHA England and Wales attended the New Citizenship Project's launch of The Future of Membership (conducted by the New Citizenship Project).

The project was conducted with six leading membership bodies (including the NASUWT, National Union of Students, Soil Association and Tate) and focuses on participation in purpose (advocacy) rather than use of outputs (benefits/transactions).

Rich and Joe have been following the project over the past year with great interest and certainly recommend reading the concluding report (containing case studies, frameworks, a 3-principle model and how-to guides). We will be working with the New Citizenship Project to raise awareness of this great work. Read more...
