ISSUE NO. 47 / May 2015
The Good to Great Edition

Hello

Welcome to your May eUpdate!

This issue is full of best practice information and advice, and we focus on practical ways we can move our membership organisations and associations from good to great.

We have new best practice presentations to download, Insight Interview videos to stream and free seminars over the coming weeks to attend.

In this issue we signpost some great free seminars PLUS our second free Lunch and Learn of the year that will focus on effective change and development leadership.

Let's see what we have in store for you this month...

In This Issue
Moving from Good to Great!
In the first of our latest two part Blog we highlight 6 of 12 differentiators that make an association either good or great.

Some are pretty straight forward (e.g. focusing on positive member outcomes) whilst others are a little more controversial.

The differentiators are taken from conversations with senior association and membership professionals, observations made over the past decade and hopefully a little common-sense thrown in for good measure!

What do you think? Perhaps you have your own indicator(s) that you wish to see feature? Please do post your thoughts and feelings on the Blog!

Core will explore how you can use Microsoft Dynamics CRM to achieve these goals, demonstrating its unique accelerator designed for the membership sector, Core's Membership Platform.
Gaining a Royal Charter
A great way to provide members with enhanced status

There are over 400 active Chartered bodies in existence, however many of those originally granted a Royal Charter no longer exist. We thought it would be interesting to explore the topic...

Recent organisations to be granted a Charter include the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists; Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors; Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences.

Organisations consider petitioning for a Royal Charter for a number of reasons...
