Your membership scheme - Time to hit 'Reset'?
|
We need to ensure our membership schemes are optimised and exceed expectations way beyond the delivery of positive outputs (initiatives) and outcomes (benefits received).
In this Blog article we explore the idea of 'starting again' and the benefits this can bring...
Membership schemes that are fit for the future will enable simple, straight-forward, secure, seamless and online entry (for those eligible) and quick/convenient renewals ideally via opt-out subscription payment methods.
As association and membership professionals it is our responsibility to ensure our schemes are 'fit for the future' and that they enable entry/renewal anytime, anyplace, anywhere. This is now a growing member expectation and not simply 'nice to have' operational functionality.
It's always good to learn from fellow membership professionals who have conducted such activity so we caught up with Sabina Baba, Membership and Grants Manager at the Society of Experimental Biology, who has recently made some significant changes to her scheme.

Introducing Member Experience Engineering...
|
During challenging times it is important for us to optimise member engagement to enable enhanced member value, existing member retention and growth particularly when it costs us 8 x more to recruit a new member than retain an existing member.
In this short blog article Sector Thought-Leader and consultant, Sue Froggatt, introduces us to a new member engagement related concept - Member Experience Engineering...
What is Member Experience Engineering?
Member Experience Engingeering focuses on evaluating the membership experience and either removing negative elements of the experience or enhancing/buidling upon the positive elements.
Find out where Sue first heard of this concept and how it can enable your organisation to improve member experience, engagement, value and growth...

First 2015 Lunch & Learn: Protecting Your Brand!
|
We are pleased to announce our first free-to-attend Lunch and Learn of 2015 (sponsored by Bates Wells Braithwaite). - Protecting Your Brand
- 11:45am on Thurs 26th Feb 2015 - London Presented by: - Matthew Healey- Trade Mark Attorney - Bates Wells Braithwaite
Brand protection is an important area for organisations of all kinds, and the laws surrounding registered trade marks, and passing off, are a minefield. It is just as key for associations and membership organisations to protect those most vital of assets - their names and logos - as it is for their members. The picture is even more complicated where you authorise others to use your brands to denote membership, or perhaps to certify that products or services meet a given standard. This seminar aims to cut to the heart of this difficult area and clarify the things you really need to know. These include: -The basics of checking whether a name is free to use, and protecting it via trade marking-Collective and certification marks - practical advice surrounding allowing others to use your names and logos as badges of membership or of quality-Taking action against unauthorised users of your brands, including rogue members and ex-members.
Programme
11.45am - Registration 12.00pm - Seminar 13.30pm - Lunch
