Member Personas - Revisiting how to get closer!
|
More associations are using member persona profiling to get a much deeper understanding of members' needs and requirements. We revisit this important activity...
Member Personas are used to better understand/represent key groups of members that share important characteristics. e.g. at the same career stage, a requirement to meet a certain legal obligation or live in a particular part of the country. Once established associations can evaluate their respective membership offerings (and marketing effectiveness) to ensure it meets key requirements of key membership segments. In return associations can expect optimised member value, increased engagement and enhanced growth.
If you are considering using member personas you may be interested in our Member Persona Audit template/format that provides a structured pathway:
1) Identify key member or non-member groups
2) Understand key or unique characteristics/needs
3) Evaluate organisation offering against these characteristics/needs
4) Review member journeys and related marketing linked to proposition(s) 5) Make appropriate developments/changes and regularly review
This work can be carried out in tandem with traditional member research methods, quality assured in association with 'critical friends' or independently evaluated by an objective and independent third party.
The MemberWise Network carries out a range of consultancy services, including member persona auditing/evaluation. Find out more...
