Harnessing the Web 2013/14 - Survey now live! |
We are pleased to announce the launch of our 2nd national web benchmarking survey for the membership sector. The survey is live and we investigate why you should consider taking part!
Our survey has already been completed by 159 membership and association professionals. The results will provide you with a unique opportunity to evaluate current (and proposed future) web activity within your organisation and benchmark with the rest of the wider membership sector.
What's different from last year? This time last year we conducted our first survey and this provided a unique 'snap-shot' of web-based activity within the membership sector. Ultimately we didn't really know where we were. Hmm.
One year on it is really important for us to take a 'deeper dive' and compare the results to see how we have developed, changed and evolved. This will enable us to enhance future member engagement, value and optimise member recruitment and retention.
The survey should only take 10 minutes to complete and as an added incentive to take part we are offering 2 £50 John Lewis vouchers to two lucky participants!
The survey will close at the end of November and the results will be launched at a VIP survey summary report launch event (sponsored by ASI Europe) that will take place at 30 Euston Square on 26th February 2014. Add the date to your diary now and we will let you know when you can register an interest in attending.

Harnessing the Web Conference: 4 out of 5 'LIKE'! |
Our national web conference, Harnessing the Web 2013, was hailed a great success by delegates and is the largest network national conference to-date.
240 delegates attended a challenging web-focused day comprising of 36 web-themed educational sessions that included presentations from leading sector experts, membership organisations and associations including the RIBA, RCOG, FIA and RCGP.
Delegates rated content 4 out of 5 and 84% of attendees confirmed they would 'return to the office' and make at least one web-related change/development. This is great!
So what's next? The launch of a dedicated MemberWise YouTube Channel that will stream key sessions and interviews with leading sector influencers, thought-leaders, experts and membership/association professionals. In preparation for the launch of this significant development we have featured 7 great YouTube videos that featured on the day. Although not membership sector-specific they outline why we need to harness the web to drive membership value and growth. We have highlighted our favourite (Online Social Media Revolution 2013) below and the rest can be viewed our YouTube Channel Play List. And finally - Something to make you think...
|
Our network is all about sharing so here is our regular 'Think Piece' article submitted by Susie Kay from The Professionalism Group.

As we reflect upon our attendance at the Harnessing the Web 2013 conference, it is worth taking a moment to think about what will happen next.
The speakers and people you met will, perhaps, have given you some ideas which might motivate you into thinking about making changes or decisions which could affect how you do things in the future.
So now might be a good time to ask yourself how you will cascade what you've come back with and how you will explore the implications of possible changes. How will you plan for these future changes? Who will you include in those discussions - everyone or just a few key members of staff?
Whichever way you choose to proceed you are going to need a planning tool which can be embedded for long term use in your organisation and can cope with any requirement.
That tool is Mind Mapping - the ultimate tool to assist with the most important and valuable activities in any organisation. It can produce exceptional results for all planning processes, whether for those large scale creative discussions; quick and effective decision making; problem solving; innovation, countering challenges and future proofing; team and project requirements; through to individuals using it to organise their workloads.
If you simply need to find a better way to communicate internally or want to find a more efficient way to organise your planning, then arrange for a session on "Getting Organised with Mind Maps", a proven and incredibly effective in-house tool for you and your staff.
