New Social Media training course launched
|
Online social media is something we cant ignore. Over 70% of our organisations have a presence, however only 1 in 3 have a structured approach or plan in place.
Some key questions to consider:
- How structured and aligned to strategy is your activity? - Have you a social media policy for staff and members in place? -Do you have a plan linked to membership/marketing strategies/plans? - Do you actively measure and report on effectiveness? - Can you quantify the return on investment over and above Likes/Follows?
If your answer is 'no' to any of the above or if your organisation is about to embark on 'going social' you should consider attending our new one- day training course.
- 31st July & 7th October
- Central London
Learning outcomes include the ability to take a more structured approach, a more informed approach to aid member engagement/marketing, a deeper knowledge and understanding of key platforms, a more strategic/organisation-wide approach, identify effective ways to measure engagement levels and understand how to analyse social metrics/results.

And finally - Something to make you think...
|
Our network is all about sharing so here is our regular 'Think Piece' article submitted by Susie Kay from The Professionalism Group.

How many of you, I wonder, remember a cult TV show called "The Prisoner", starring Patrick McGooghan as 'Number Six'?
His all too frequent response to questioning from his captors was "I am not a number, I am a free man". His struggle for individuality allowed him to triumph over those who tried to break him.
Why on earth is this relevant? Because it is crucial for organisations to know how it feels to be a member of your organisation.
Do you know how it feels to be on the receiving end of your services? Do your members ever tell you that you are treating everyone the same way? Are you ever accused of 'one size fits all' products and services? How do members feel about their membership experience after one, five, ten years with you? Are they feeling valued or sidelined?
Although each of your members has chosen to be identified as part of your community by becoming a member, they still need you to acknowledge their individuality and provide appropriate services for each of them.
Do you ever wonder how you could become more relevant to your members' lives? How much do you know about each of them? What can your website and social media data and analytics tell you? I would guess quite a lot more than you already know.
So perhaps it is time to look at how you could meet the marketer's dream scenario of 'matching members to specific offers' by becoming more aware and getting into the detail, offering relevance to enhance retention and increase recruitment. If we know that, on the whole, members stay with you because they want to, how much work have you still got to do to make them feel welcome as individuals and not membership numbers?
Empathy, understanding how it feels to be in someone else's shoes, plays an incredibly effective role within the professionalism toolkit (**) and, in this instance, might lead to some very productive insights.
