Heseltine Review endorses MAP Project

The Heseltine Review recommends that MemberWise and The Professionalism Group drive up competence with the Trade Association Forum (TAF).

Heseltine ReviewLast Tuesday (31st Oct) the Heseltine Review was published. The report "No Stone Unturned in Pursuit of Growth" was conducted by Lord Heseltine and published by the UK Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS).

The report sets out clear recommendations which aim to:

- Inject sustainability into the economy
- Create the conditions for growth; and
- Maximise the performance of the UK

We are pleased to announce that Recommendation 67 of the Heseltine Review advocates that this important work should continue with the Trade Association Forum (TAF), the MemberWise Network and The Professionalism Group working together on this much needed resource.

Whilst the review was being undertaken by BIS the MemberWise Network and The Professionalism Group have developed further the Membership and Association Professional (MAP) Toolkit; a competency-driven resource that enables membership and association professionals to understand individual/organisational strengths and areas for development.

The framework element of the project is supported by and has been user-tested with the Trade Association Forum (TAF) and its members.

This month early-adopters will put the framework to task and we will keep you updated on our progress!

Harnessing the Web - Conference Review and Survey Winners announced!

Over 200 representatives attended our 'Harnessing the Web...' conference last Tuesday and delegates say 'Like'!

Two key themes of the day were offering enhanced member value via online tools/resources and the real need to communicate these benefits via outcome-focused multi-plaform marketing campaigns linked to key needs.

Key examples include the need to save time/money (becoming more effective) and the need to generate income streams via new online means.

Our dedicated 'Harnessing the Web' survey has been completed by 315 membership and association professionals (25% of our membership!) and the results will be published shortly.

We are pleased to announce the winners of our 50 John Lewis vouchers:

Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS)
Ben Meadows, Digital Marketing Manager

National Childminding Association (NCMA)
Cathy Wredden, Business Systems Manager

Congratulations both and watch this space for the survey results!
