APRIL  2014

Let's Talk About...

Cleansing with NourishMe

Monday, April 21-April 30

Do you feel sluggish?

Are you feel overweight?

Have you been over indulging?

Do you wish you had stuck to your New Years resolution?

Clear your calendar.

We can help

Did you know that besides filtering toxins, one of the liver's jobs is to create healthy serotonin (the happy hormone) levels? Serotonin is actually metabolized by the liver.

Did you know that the gut and all mucosal linings are the first line of defense of the immune system?  Did you know that our immune system responds to our thoughts?

Our purpose is to clear the liver so it can do its 500 jobs every day.

  1. Help your intestines break down and absorb the nutrients we eat.
  2. Help relieve stress from the body, mind and soul.
  3. Help you loose weight
  4. Help you look and feel younger

The NourishMe Cleanse lasts nine-days.

  1. It includes all tea preparation, cooking and juicing. That's three nourishing meals a day for nine days=27 meals.
  2. This takes the stress off of shopping, cooking and cleaning.
  3. We also teach the basics of dry brushing, oil pulling, and Chakra Thai Chi.
  4. The NourishMe staff is a very supportive community. (ie: We have fun with this!)

Our Cleanse uses specific foods and drinks to help the process of detoxing. Essiac tea nourishes the liver and kidneys. Green drinks and specific herbs help move the toxins into the bloodstream.  We add ghee (clarified butter) hemp and flax oil to our kitcharee to attract the toxins. And by drinking copious amounts of lemon water the liver is opened up, kept hydrated and able to pass those toxins through the kidneys without stopping to have a party. Lastly, collagen boosted broth helps boosts the liver's ability to continue its life saving duties.

Most of us eat too much, or too much of the wrong foods, and are exposed (unknowingly) to heavy metals, pesticides, antibiotics, and hormones. Our liver can become so overwhelmed dealing with these potentially dangerous toxins that it can't keep up with the daily housekeeping. By limiting our foods to a few easily digested and nourishing ones we can give our liver a break.

Like spring-cleaning our home, we can finally clear out all the nasty stuff we stuffed under the bed, and finally attend to those the mind-dulling cobwebs in the attic. After cleansing the liver will be able to move all this sludge of hormones that had been bottled up and immovable moodily waiting to be processed.

This cleanse is designed to keep you happy and healthy throughout the cleanse and beyond. Don't put this off for another time. Join our friendly staff at NourishMe and feel the love. Inside and out. You won't regret it.

There will be free Thai Chi Class for cleanse participants with Stella Stockton at NourishMe, Monday, 6 p.m. April 21.

A brief but informative meeting for participants will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, April 17.

April Recipe

Nettles make a great food for a spring cleanse because they help de-congest the liver, cleanse the blood and are strongly diuretic, which helps the body release toxins.

Dandelion tea is a a great companion for this.

Earthing by Clinton Ober, Stephen R. Sinatra, and Martin Zucker.

Throughout time, we humans have sat, stood, strolled, and slept on the ground - the skin of our bodies touching the skin of the Earth.

And throughout time, such ordinary contact served as a conduit for transferring the Earth's natural, gentle negative charge underfoot into the body. You see, we are bioelectrical beings living on an electrical planet.

Modern lifestyle has disconnected us from this primordial charge.

Earthing is the landmark discovery that the disconnect may make us more vulnerable to stress and illness. Contact with the Earth appears to uphold the electrical stability of our bodies and serve as a foundation for vitality and health. In an age of rampant chronic inflammation and disease, "grounding" ourselves by reconnecting with the Earth beneath our very feet provides a way back to better health.
