Supplement Highlight of the Month Dandelion is an excellent blood cleanser and is most effective on the liver, kidneys and skin. It is excellent for conditions such as arthritis, skin problems, gout, poor digestion, constipation, PMS and Candida.
Dandelion should be considered primarily as a liver tonic and bile stimulant. As well as this, it has the added benefit of lessening the tendency to form gallstones. It has proven so beneficial in this regard that it should be included in therapeutic programs where the person has a history of stone formation or where gallstones are suspected.
It is very high in vitamins and minerals, such as iron, copper, silicon, magnesium, sodium, calcium, potassium, phosphorus, sulphur, vitamin A, B1, B2, B3, C, and D. It also contains some protein and the liver regulating substance choline. This makes dandelion an invaluable herb to help keep these nutrient levels up in the body.
It is a good herb to use when a diuretic action is needed. This is caused by the high level of potassium in dandelion, more than any other medicinal plant.

Let's Talk About...
The Kidney
Your kidneys are two bean-shaped organs, each about the size of your fist. They are located in the middle of your back, just below your rib cage, on either side of your spine. Although the kidneys are small organs by weight, they receive a huge amount -- 20 percent -- of the blood pumped by the heart.
Kidneys balance the body's chemistry by cleaning the entire blood supply every 5 minutes.
The critical regulation of the body's salt, potassium and acid content is performed by the kidneys. The kidneys also produce hormones that affect the function of other organs. For example, a hormone produced by the kidneys stimulates red blood cell production. Other hormones produced by the kidneys help regulate blood pressure and control calcium metabolism.
The kidneys are powerful chemical factories that perform the following functions:
- remove waste products from the body
- remove drugs from the body
- balance the body's fluids
- release hormones that regulate blood pressure
- produce an active form of vitamin D that promotes strong, healthy bones
- control the production of red blood cells
- help regulate your blood pressure
What you can do to keep your kidneys healthy:
- Take electrolytes for potassium intake rather than through high sugar content bananas, or salt. Aim for less than 1,500 milligrams of pure unrefined pink salt daily.
- Our heart can't function without potassium, and salt. We recommend this:
- Drink alkaline water, and /or filtered water.
- Do not eat foods that have been sprayed with Bt Biopestiside such as Roundup, which is made by and heavily marketed by Monsanto despite the damage to crops, along with illnesses and birth defects in people and livestock.
- Just say No to GMO products. See Non GMO Project.
- No factory grown animals which feed on GMO's, anti-biotics, and growth hormones. The kidneys have trouble with filtering these foreign materials.

NEW PRODUCT ALERT
We now carry a locally made energetic essence, Space Clearing, made Dynamic Feng Shui in Ketchum.
"It''s not a air freshener," said creator and feng shui practitioner Peggy Bates. "It's formulated to shift energy. It's a combination of the essential oils and essences that grew out of my practice."
She suggests using it when one wants to fill a void when you "repatterning," a process that can help identify and clear the patterns of energy underlying any issue, problem or pain you are experiencing.
She also recommends it when moving house, moving furniture, traveling, in hotel rooms, in a rental home or car, in kids' rooms, and even around your body on a bad day.
