GENERAL MANAGER'S UPDATE

I hope our newsletter finds you well.

It has been a busy week as our staff has worked extra hard to close out the fiscal year. The Funding Team, led by Armando Ruiz, was busy ensuring that the transfers of the remaining funding allocations to Neighborhood Councils went through. The Field Team, led by Leyla Campos, has been busy processing the Bylaws Amendment Applications and the 2016 Administrative and Election Stipulation Worksheets to lock the bylaws by July 1st. Leyla's team has also uploaded over 3,200 agendas since the start of the fiscal year! The Outreach and Elections Team, led by Stephen Box, was prepping and sending out the new monthly Neighborhood Council profiles. Unfortunately, our Administrative Manager, Jeff Brill is out on sick leave until July so we wish him a swift recovery and will be splitting up his work to make sure all the contracts and leases are completed. Many thanks to our great staff for their support of the Neighborhood Councils!

The Board of Neighborhood Commissioners met last night and continued getting stakeholder feedback on the Code of Conduct policy, website recommendations and Council President Herb Wesson's motion. If you'd like to provide your comment to the Commissioners, their next meeting is June 15th in City Hall, or you can email [email protected].

I was happy to attend Engage LA: Drought Los Angeles at the Getty House today  where Mayor Eric Garcetti facilitated a conversation on the City's Save the Drop campaign and on water conservation. Many Neighborhood Council leaders were here where they were acknowledged as a big outreach component of the campaign by LA's Chief Sustainability Officer, Matt Peterson. Much appreciation to the Neighborhood Council Sustainability Alliance their outreach work to all the Neighborhood Councils on the campaign!

The LANCC is meeting tomorrow, and Voices Neighborhood Council will be hosting their community fair. Sunday is Chatsworth Neighborhood Council's  Ride the Colt bike/walk and Westside Neighborhood Council's Pick PICO events.

If I don't see you this weekend, have a wonderful one!

Best,

Grayce Liu,
General Manager
