General Manager's Update
I hope this newsletter finds you well. I'm sad to share that PlanCheckNC's founder and Co-chair Maggi Fajnor passed away yesterday morning from a brain tumor. I first met Maggi 5 years ago while assisting her with getting planning notices to Board members. Maggi was a gracious, feisty and dedicated Neighborhood Council leader who helped build PlanCheckNC into a highly respected organization in the City. By connecting and educating Neighborhood Councils on planning and land use issues, PlanCheckNC is now considered by the Planning Department to be their main conduit to Neighborhood Councils. She will be fondly remembered and missed.
This week took me to West LA for the Board of Neighborhood Commissioners meeting on Tuesday to celebrate West LA and Del Rey Neighborhood Councils' 10th anniversary, and then to South LA last night where I was on hand to celebrate the retirement of United Neighborhoods Neighborhood Council founding Board member and long time Treasurer, Wesley Todd, after 11 years of Neighborhood Council service. A big thank you to Wesley for connecting his neighborhood to City Hall and for empowering his little corner of LA all these years.
If you have time, please check out PlanCheckNC's monthly meeting Saturday morning.
Have a great weekend!
 Best,
Grayce Liu,
General Manager
