General Manager's Update

I hope this newsletter finds you well and happy after Valentine's Day. I had great dates last night with Westside Neighborhood Council and Atwater Village Neighborhood Council where our very dedicated Board members tackled community issues late into the evening. They made me heart NCs all over again!

We've finished our report back on the 2012 Neighborhood Council elections and will be submitting it to the Education and Neighborhoods Committee for review next week. I'm so happy about our successful collaboration and want to again thank all the Neighborhood Council volunteers, Independent Election Administrators and our staff for their amazing work. I also see a lot of benefits to partnering with the City Clerk's Office for the 2014 elections, which is laid out in the report as well so please let us know what you think.

I was looking over remaining funding balances for Neighborhood Councils, and I want to encourage Board members to eye their budgets now to make sure they are on target to spend down their funds because there are no encumbrances this year. Also, please note that your 1st and 2nd quarter purchase card reconciliations are now due. If your council is late, you will not be able to submit Neighborhood Purpose Grants and will even have your funds frozen if you are behind both quarters. More updates on the Funding Program overhaul coming next week.

Please remember that we'll be closed on Monday in observance of President's Day so hope you have a great long weekend!

Best,

Grayce Liu,

General Manager
