FASTEST GROWING HIGH SCHOOL SPORT - TRAP
Trapshooting has been a sport in the US since the 1830s and since 1900 has been an Olympic sport. And yes, originally, the sport used live pigeons (hence clay pigeons).

In Minnesota, there are now 8,600 students taking part in the sport up from 340 in 2010. Wisconsin and North Dakota have also started leagues and another 30 states have inquired about creating programs at their schools.

It's September and in many places around the country that means dove season has started. Range 365 has some good tips on how to get the most out of your time in the field.

You can read more here.

Chukar & Sage Grouse
The Nevada Department of Wildlife reports that the 2016 Chukar Forecast is now available. It looks like the season will be good.

You can read more about chukar and sage grouse in Nevada  here.

Brant
Ducks Unlimited reports that the long-distance flying champions of all waterfowl are black brant. The birds lose almost half their body weight during their 2-3 day flight of 3,000 miles from coastal Alaska to Baja California.

Pheasants & Quail
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources reports that ring-necked pheasants are continuing their comeback. In addition, bobwhite quail have reached their highest numbers in 27 years.

You can read more here.

Mallards

Field & Stream has published an article on the four basics of
h

You can read more here.
HEALTH
Mycoplasma Bacteria
There's kennel cough, with protection typically provided by vaccines and then there is a different type of kennel cough caused by mycoplasma bacteria. The condition can become serious and is treated with doxycycline.

Like kennel cough, the disease is highly contagious.

You can read more here.
