A vet named Frances Wilkerson has created a blog to help readers understand the ins and outs of pet insurance.
On this site, she also reviews a number of plans from different insurers and has created some handy charts to help make comparisons. She does receive compensation from some of the companies when a visitor clicks the "get a Quote" link.

| IMPROVED HEARTWORM PREVENTION | | |
Heartworm is increasing nationally, with a 166% rise in the past three years. The disease has been reported in all 50 states.
The website dvm360 has a good article describing new research that supports a change to the heartworm protocol.
The research recommends treating dogs with Milbemycin oxime (an oral heartworm preventive) and DPP (found in topical flea and tick products).
