Winning or placing in an Open is a goal for most and is pretty exciting when it does happen. And earning more Open points than any other dog in a given year is extraordinary. (You can see the full list of dogs with 2015 Open points here.)
In the past 15 years, the number of dogs earning Open points has ranged from 387 to 475. The maximum number of points earned has ranged from 25 to 60.  With 42 points, this year's Top Open Dog is NFC-

AFC Robber's Stray Bullet (FC-AFC Creek Robber ex FC-AFC Pattons Blazen Abby MH). He is owned by Henry McNeil, Jr.
This is the second year Bullet has earned the top spot. (His father, FC-AFC Creek Robber earned it three times in 2003, 2004 and 2007.)
Bullet has amassed 195 All-Age points in his career, 147 of them in the Open. He has qualified for nine National events and is a four time finalist in addition to winning the National Championship in 2014.
Bullet was the youngest dog to become QAA in 2009, and his sibling, Abby's Physician of Antioch, was the 2015 Top Derby Dog.
