Vol. I, Issue 1

A MESSAGE FROM NRCC PRESIDENT
I am pleased to share some initial comments as part of the first Canadian edition of the Retriever Results newsletter, January 2016.

NRCC has worked closely with Retriever Results over the last year to bring this great resource to Canada. Now, those who have signed up will receive this communication which will provide up to date summaries of field trials across Canada on a regular basis. You will also receive many and varied articles which are related to our dogs and our sport.

In addition, Retriever Results will now be the supplier of current Rankings and Event Results as well as National and National Amateur qualifiers on the NRCC website.

All the Best and Safe Training!

INTRODUCING RETRIEVER RESULTS CANADA
We are thrilled to introduce Retriever Results Canada. As you may know, for the past few months we have worked with the NRCC to expand Retriever Results to include Canadian Field Trial results.

The Newsletter
This, first emailed newsletter covers news and information on retriever health, training and hunting.

Once the season gets underway the newsletters will include:
  • Announcements of weekly field trial winners
  • Recognition of milestones achieved such as national qualifications, QAA and Junior list.
  • Rankings of top Open, Amateur, Qualifying and Junior dogs, handlers and professional trainers.

Every picture tells a story, so we hope you'll send us photos of you and your dogs earning ribbons.

The NRCC Website
The NRCC website will now include continuously updated results from current events, national qualifications for the current year and current year rankings.

Working Together
Part of what has made Retriever Results such a success in the US is that readers have provided powerful feedback to let us know how we can make the service even more useful. Please use the NRCC feedback link to let us know:
  • If a handler is incorrect
  • If a dog's sire, dam or DOB is wrong
  • If we're missing a result
We're counting on you to help create a service we can all use and enjoy. If you know of others who you think will enjoy the newsletter, feel free to share it by using the "Forward" link at the top of the newsletter.

Thank you for giving Retriever Results this opportunity.

CAN FIELD TRIAL DOGS MAKE GOOD HUNTING DOGS?
Photo: Christina Power Photography
Do Field Trial and Hunt Test washouts make good hunting dogs? Even though this article from Sporting Classics Daily talks about spaniels, the author's viewpoint makes sense to us.

WHAT'S NEW
Rankings
Each week of competition you'll not only receive a newsletter that reports on the week's results, updated rankings and milestones, you'll also be able to check the complete  rankings on the NRCC website. For dogs, we compute All-Age, Open, Amateur, Qualifying and Junior rankings. We also calculate rankings for handlers and professional kennels.

Milestones
The newsletter will also announce milestones achieved such as National qualifiers and eventually new titles and dogs that achieve QAA or the Junior List. The NRCC website will have complete lists of these achievements for the current year.

Events
Each week we'll announce winners of each stake in the newsletter. Complete results from individual Field Trials will also be posted on the NRCC website.
