SHOOT YOUR DOG AT THE NATIONAL
| Photo: Mark Atwater |
This year's National in Vicksburg, Mississippi represents another first. Mark Atwater, Upclose Photo, will be shooting the event.
Many of you already know Mark's work from countless magazine and catalog covers: Retriever Journal, Shooting Sportsman, GunDog, Orvis, Hunter Retriever and many more. Others know him from portrait sessions and photo coverage of retriever events including the Super Retriever Series, Golden Specialty, Master National and HRC Grand as well as weekend hunt tests and field trials.
In addition to providing the traditional photo coverage for the upcoming National Retriever Championship, those attending the event can arrange for a commission photo session either during pre-National training or during the event itself.
To arrange for a photo session during the National (or at any other time), call Mark Atwater at (229) 524-6187. |
FIELD AWARENESS | |
AKC Canine Health Foundation has put together a good article on things to be aware of when putting our dogs in the field.
The article reviews:
- Lepto
- Ehrlichiosis
- Grass Awns
- Safety tips
You can contribute to the grants that fund research by making a direct contribution to CHF or by "checking the box" on Entry Express when you enter an event. |
YOUR DOG MIGHT NEED TO SEE A VET IF...
Woofipedia, produced by the American Kennel Club has produced a list of five signs your dog might need to see a vet.
Does your dog smell like moldy bread or corn chips? If so he or she may have a yeast infection
And if you suspect that's the case (think skin, ears or feet), you can learn more here. |
CALLING ALL HANDLERS | |
By now, many of you have looked up your dog's profile to view the points and passes that have accumulated. Another great use of Retriever Results is to take a look at your handler record.
While Retriever Results has several sources of placement and handler information, it's not the same as being there. So if we need to make corrections, please let us know!
At the end of the year, Retriever Results (along with co-sponsors Avery Sporting Dogs and Lucky Lab Pins) calculates the Retriever Results Handler awards.
The handler record includes both summary and detail information:
- Summary: Total points/passes by stake
- Detail: List of events and points/passes earned including those for National events
