ROAD TO THE NATIONALS
Congratulations to the 79 dogs that have qualified so far for the 2014 National to be held in Vicksburg, Mississippi starting November 16. There are just six weeks of competition left between now and then, so we thought we'd give you an update.

For more information about the qualifiers as well as the thousands of other dogs that compete in AKC Field Trials and Hunting Tests, visit Retriever Results.

Here's a report on all the qualified dogs.
 BREED, SEX & COLOR
Here's more on the 79 dogs that are qualified.  
  • 100% are Labs: 89% are black, 9% are yellow, 3% are chocolate
  • 62% are male: 38% are female
  • The average age (at the time of the competition) is 7 years old
  • The most frequent age is 5.7 years old
  • The youngest dog qualified is Sundog's Maximum Pursuit at 3.5 years old
  • The oldest dog qualified is FC Adams Acres Water Lilly at 11.3 years old
     
  • While handlers aren't finalized we estimate 56% of the dogs qualified will be handled by pros

Qualifying for any National takes a "blue plus two" and it tough to do. There are just six weekends left to qualify.

Five dogs have seven or more points, but are looking for a win.
