PURINA & BLUE BUFFALO | |
Purina is a long-time and significant supporter of sporting dog events. The company also has a history of transparency in its manufacturing process. Here are some highlights:
- 99% of Purina brand products sold in the U.S. are manufactured in their own factories, using proprietary machinery.
- All raw ingredients are tracked from the time of receipt at the plants through inclusion into the finished product. Work is underway to implement systems that track materials back to the point of origin.
- 33 quality experts work at headquarters.
Purina has created a web site (www.petfoodhonesty.com) that includes a copy of the complaint concerning Blue Buffalo, Purina's press releases and how the issue has been covered in the news.
