As summer is fast approaching and activities are amping up outdoors, here at the studio we are enjoying a slowing down time. We are in-between many of our workshops and trainings and are taking advantage of the resting and renewal time before fall comes when we will be in full swing with teachers trainings and workshops.

Some of the classes on the schedule have been cancelled or changed, so please check the website for current class offering.

We are really hoping to build up these following classes this summer. Please support if you know anyone who might be interested in Yoga but is hesitant to start. These are great classes for them.

Yoga for Men on Wednesday's 4pm

Yoga Basic's Thursday's 9:30am

Relax and Renew gentle restorative yoga Thursday's 4pm

Dr Zorn will present a Meditation this Sunday and one last one in June. Then he will also take a break until the fall. So, please come this Sunday at 10am and soak up his wisdom and presence.

This month brings us to Health Goal #5 Probiotics. Its the scoop on the good and bad of those bacteria that make up about 90% of our bodies.

Enjoy Maureen's part 2 of 3 inspirational article on "Getting Out of Your Rut"!

We are ever looking to support education and wellbeing in our community outside of the Yoga studio. Sustainable organic farming is at a core to my heart. I do not have a farm but can support our local farms and CSA's. If you have a favorite CSA please email their name to me. If you get your veggies, meat and dairy from local sources please share. I am building a database to refer people to. Along these lines we have a few students that are offering chicken eggs at the studio. RSVP for egg pick up on Tuesdays after 4pm and pick up eggs (cage free & organic) for $3.50

We look forward to our winter CSA drop off here at the studio from FullPlate farm in Ridgefiled. Connect with them if you want to receive a share (nov-mar).

In Wellness,

Optimal Health Goal for May.....

Probiotics

I hope you are seeing a theme to our health goals. Everything ties back to what we put in our mouths and how we digest and assimilate it. Our friendly bacteria are our greatest allies to this endeavor. And we are going to talk about the importance of them in a moment. Actually, did you know that there are 10 times more bacteria cells in your body than human cells? Or think of it this way, we are 10% human and 90% bacteria. We are made up mostly of bacteria! Yet, bacteria is the thing we fear and hear that we should kill or prevent ourselves from getting in contact with, which by the way, is impossible.

Yes, it is true that there are bacteria we want to avoid or limit exposure to. But, there are a lot of bacteria that are on our side. We need bacteria to help us digest, make vitamins and assimilate our food.
