A Happy Holiday Season To Your Family
I want to wish all of our families a very special holiday season. May this time be very special as you celebrate together.
Join us for our Winter Concert Tuesday at 7 pm
We look forward to hearing from the Riverside Chorus, Band, and Orchestra on Tuesday at 7 pm. We welcome you to attend.
"Hour of Code" session Monday with Mr. Weiss
Sign-ups start today(the parent link email sent yesterday apparently did not deliver correctly to parents). Mr. Weiss will be hosting a coding session for interested grade 3-5 students (must be accompanied by a parent) on Monday 3:30-4:30 pm in the computer lab. You can sign up below on this Google Forms link (24 student limit):

Encourage your daughter/son to try an "Hour of Code" at home
Many classes have been holding "Hour of Code" events this week. You can learn more about coding with your child at:
Front Desk Changes
We would like to thank Mrs. Kathleen Castleberry, our 12 - 4 front desk temporary staff assistant who has done great work helping greet everyone, sign people in, answer phones & the front door, and help in the office for the past two months. Today is her last day as a temporary worker. We wish her the very best on her new assignment.
On Monday, we welcome our permanent hire for the front desk position (12-4 daily). Ms. Tina Zayas comes to us highly recommended for the position. We look forward to her joining our office staff.
Thank you for your partnership
Thank you for your partnership with us in attending your child's parent-teacher conference. Your involvement and support of our teachers and your son/daughter makes a big difference in his/her life and the life of our school.
Early Pickup Clarification
Please note that if you are picking up your son or daughter early from school, you need to send in a note (not just send an email) with your child/children AND contact the office in the morning. Also, you must pick up before 3pm. If you want to pick up after 3pm, you will need to wait until 3:15 when the students are brought outside. Thank you.

Riverside Rhythms
|
On Monday, the high energy singer, trombone player Vinny Nobile and his band, The Trummytones, rocked your favorite holiday songs including Jingle Bells, the Dreidel song, and Feliz Navidad. These songs were played with the band's distinctive calypso beat on the tuba, accordion, and percussion. Vinny and his band have been coming to Riverside for twelve years, and each class entered with a big smile in anticipation of the fun ahead. The band did not disappoint! All grades were singing along and if they weren't singing, they were giggling at Vinny's performance.
Have a wonderful holiday season!
This performance was sponsored by the PTA Riverside Rhythms.

Safety...we STILL need your help!!!
|
We still need volunteers for our Safety Committee. There is an on-line
sign-up allowing parents to volunteer only here and there and not have to commit to the whole year, much like lunch duty. A Safety Shift starts when the front doors open at 8:30a and ends when the bell rings at 8:45a. It's very easy and takes very little time, but helps to keep the kids safe.
Please consider helping us with this important job of keeping all the children safe.
