One of the local media operations is reporting that the Galey and Lord operation in Society Hill SC is closing at the end of May 2016. AKC note: Galey and Lord heritage goes back to the 1880s and their main products are denim and twill apparel applications. The company has been owned by Patriarch Partners which has gone through financial difficulties related to other investments. There does not appear to be any official announcement released from the company, so we do not know if the Galey & Lord brand will continue in a different form going forward.
