Recent press announcements have been released by 2 nonwovens investments in the Carolinas. In both cases the company is overseas based - 1 from Brazil and 1 from China.

1.  Brazilian company Fitesa $52 million expansion in Greenville, SC

2.  Chinese owned Uniquetex to invest $31.6 million to install a plant in Grover, NC

AKC Note:
Neither announcement states the type of fiber to be used, but it is believed that the majority in the Fitesa expansion will be filament spunbond polypropylene. The Uniquetex operation will be a j/v between a large Chinese nonwovens group and a producer of nonwoven machinery that is based in China.
