The Kinston Free Press is covering an announced $30 million expansion in DuPont's Sorona polymer capacity at the Kinston plant in North Carolina;

AKC Note: Sorona is a partly bio based polymer, formerly known as PTT, but now with its own generic name Triexta (March 2009). Sorona is the DuPont brand name. The polymer has had good success into carpets with Mohawk being the exclusive user of Sorona for residential carpet applications; it also has had some success into apparel end uses. Currently carpet is by far the largest application for the Sorona polymer shipped from Kinston.
