Fruit of the Loom announce the closing of its textile plant in Jamestown, Kentucky with the loss of 600 jobs:

AKC Note: This is the last manufacturing plant that Fruit has in Kentucky and is believed to include bleaching and dyeing in its activities as well as knitting. It is reported the head office will remain in Bowling Green.
