Heard of the "Ring Theory"?

Language has power. If someone is going through medical or emotional trauma, language has the power to bring comfort. Or to cause more pain.
All of us can say (and probably have said) the wrong thing to someone who is suffering. How to avoid that? Enter the "Ring Theory." This theory is encapsulated in four words: "comfort in, dump out." I thought that wording was a mistake at first, but it's not.
