Video of the Month: Five-year-old Raises £300 for Deaf Children
|
An amazing little girl in the UK had her own "spellathon" in British Sign Language (BSL). She'd heard about the National Deaf Children's Society and wanted to help deaf kids. So this girl of five first spelled out the whole BSL alphabet and then 61 words, from easy ones like cat to harder words like daughter. She got 50 sponsors and £300.
And her mother made an adorable video of the spellathon!

|
Yes, military interpreters risk their lives. But in Uganda this week comes a new twist: a court interpreter for a major terrorism trial has disappeared. That disappearance may be linked to the assassination of the senior state prosecutor in the trial and death threats that came to the interpreter.
The rumor is that this interpreter is on the run: an alarming story.
