A Few Words from Regina...
Many of us use these lazy, hazy days of summer to unwind, regroup, and rest. I've been having conversations with friends who are thinking about getting organized now so they can finish the year having completed at least a few of their goals. What I learn from these discussions is that many people don't necessarily have the habits required to become more organized. So, while you're lazing away your days thinking about how to move forward on your organizing projects, here's a handy list of the Top Ten Habits of Organized People.
Enjoy your July!
Love, Regina

Top Ten Habits of Organized People
|
1. Make a To Do List and get ready to check it off! The list should be short - you can only do so much in a day. Organized people plan and prioritize beforehand. Make a list of the tasks you need to complete the next day and number them from most to least important. Focus on completing the most important tasks first.
2. Most organized people have fewer stuff and regularly evaluate the items they have. By having fewer things, there is less of a chance for clutter to accumulate. Similarly, many organized people purge their belongings, evaluating what items are needed and actually used. What once may have served a purpose may no longer be needed or used today.
3. Most organized people maintain their living space. On the weekends, an organized person cleans/dusts regularly, goes through the junk drawer, cleans out the fridge, files mail and documents - these are habits of organized people. If something is broken, call a handyperson to fix it.
4. Snail mail and email are read and dealt with on a daily basis. There are no stacks of unread mail from last week, and inboxes do not have 1,000 + emails. Emails are read and sorted in folder to be saved or delete if the email is not important.
5. Items are put back where they belong after use. This can be tricky when preparing meals, but the best policy is to clean up as you go along so the sink doesn't have stacks in it before the meal starts.
