Inspiring Career Change Example

This is an example of a career programme that helped a talented individual identify and find their dream job.

A dream job is possible - Emily

Emily, like many young people, was working in a non-ideal job having graduated and entered the jobs market in the downturn. Naturally full of initiative and proactive, the key was to help her to identify her dream job and support her to achieve it. Naturally a hard worker and worrier by nature, we helped her to take the pressure off herself and that she could still achieve her dream.

Emily achieved a fantastic dream job which ticked all the boxes of her wish list and provided an employer which fitted her values and enabled her to use both her organisational and creative skills and make a difference to an audience she cared about.

"Last year, I was a completely stuck in a rut, not content in the role I was in but not sure what it was I wanted to do next.

Rachel was fundamental in helping me move forward (really can't stress enough how important her coaching was). She enabled me to define the things I love and wanted to achieve both career wise, and in my personal life, and how to work towards them.

Fast forward 6 months and I now am working in a wonderful new role - coordinating apprenticeships for disadvantaged young people wanting to work in the creative industries for an award-winning social enterprise. (I love my job and even get to pass on some of the great future planning techniques I learnt from Rachel to the young apprentices I work with)."
