Fusion Yoga Studio Sacramento, Inc.
Dear Friend of Fusion
We hope you're enjoying the summer and are finding ways to keep cool.  If you're looking for things to do that take you out of the heat, come on over!  As a reminder, we are NOT a heated studio and always keep the studio a comfortable temperature (typically 75-78 degrees).

GOT KIDS...?  We're often asked if kids/teens are allowed to attend our yoga classes.  Our basic "rule-of-thumb" regarding kids is as follows:  If your child is able to pay attention, follow instructions, and is not disruptive to other students... then YES, they're welcome to come along with you!  They can get our 2 week promo for $25, use your 5, 10, 15, or 20 class pass, OR pay a discounted student drop-in rate of only $10 (or a one-month unlimited for only $50).  If you have questions, shoot us an email at FrontDesk@FusionYogaSac.com.

We have a bit of news to share...

NOW Accepting Applications for

2015 Teacher Training Program

Our 200-hour yoga certification course (recognized by Yoga Alliance), is open to those who want to teach yoga, but may also be taken by those who are not necessarily intending to become yoga instructors.  Many students pursue teacher training not because they want to teach, but because they love yoga and want to learn more. Teacher Training is a wonderful way to deepen your practice and take it to a new level!

While there are some programs that train teachers in less time than ours, we feel that a longer program gives student-teachers an opportunity to integrate what they've learned. (There is no substitute for having the time to put into practice what you are learning!) Our program is structured in a way that allows students to complete their training while accommodating career and family commitments. (A few week nights are included in order to give student-teacher live teaching opportunities. Make-up options are available).  More >

What's Karma Yoga...?

At Fusion, we offer THREE "Karma Yoga" classes every week (on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays).  These classes are taught at a beginning level and are geared towards those with limited financial resources. While everyone is welcome to attend these classes (as often as they like), they are considered donation-based or a "sliding scale" (with a suggested donation of $5 to $20). However, if you are unable to contribute monetarily, you're always welcome to come practice, until you can  :)

Has yoga and/or Fusion been an important part of your healing...?  If you do not attend these classes but would still like to support our efforts in making yoga available and affordable to all, we welcome and sincerely appreciate your donation.  Donations allow us to be able to continue offering Karma Yoga classes weekly, as well as help subsidize class passes, for those who truly NEED yoga but are unable to afford it (due to a variety of reasons - such as lack of health care, unemployment, personal crises, etc).  If you feel inspired and would like to "pay-it-forward" by making a donation to our Karma Association, you can leave a check with the front desk attendant or mail it to us at 2310 Fair Oaks Blvd #C2, Sacramento, CA 95825.

Private Somatic Yoga Sessions

Get help with your unique condition in a private setting.

You CAN feel better!   Lean how to relax and release tight, contracted muscles and improve motor function through a combination of yoga postures and meditative somatic movement.  This combined technique stimulates the brain and nervous system to release chronic muscle tension so that the brain can take back voluntary control of otherwise involuntarily contracted muscles.

While our brain and central nervous system controls our muscles and movement, it can also keep our bodies tight and contracted due to accidents, injuries, repetitive tasks, or on-going stress. If we sit at a computer all day long, our muscles learn to stay contracted only to a certain length in order to be ready to hold that same position again the next day. In other words, our muscles habituate to whatever it is we do repeatedly, and certain muscles become set, by the brain, at a certain length and get "stuck" on. Through neuromuscular re-patterning, students learn to re-educate their muscles to relieve habitual postural tensions and maladaptive movement habits while setting healthy, supportive muscle tone and joint function.

This unique, meditative floor-based practice gives priority to the internal experience and perception of movement, rather than in the external perfection of a pose.  Somatic Yoga is for everyone - including...

  • those with chronic pain (especially in the shoulders, back, and hips),
  • those with limited range-of-motion who want to move more efficiently and freely,
  • those who are recovering from trauma or an injury and are seeking to prevent future problems,
  • experienced yogis who are suffering from chronic instability, injury, pain or just want a more meditative practice.

Designed to be a safe and effective way to utilize our ability to self-heal, self-correct, and ultimately gain self-mastery while quieting the mind. (Based on Eleanor Criswell's Somatic Yoga & Thomas Hanna Somatics, and draws heavily from biofeedback research literature for actual effects of the practice.)
