The Kansas City Original Gift Card
Give the Perfect Gift this Holiday Season!
A single gift card accepted at all of the Kansas City Originals restaurants. The gift card can be purchased online and over the phone (877-229-7299) and you choose the amount of your card (between $25 and $1000). The card can be used multiple times for your own dining, or as a gift. Your gift cards will be mailed via USPS within two (2) business days of receipt of payment.

Web Certificate Sale Ending Soon!!!
The Kansas City Originals reward our best guests by giving you the opportunity to purchase Web Certificates to member restaurants at a discount. You'll be able to purchase these Web Certificates, print them from your computer, and use them immediately at your favorite Kansas City Originals Restaurant (or you can give them as a gift!). A copy of the certificate will also be emailed to you.

After 12 years at Pierponts Matt Barnes barely knows any other life other than living and breathing cooking. He wouldn't have it any other way. In the early years of his marriage he did a lot of cooking at home but felt he needed more training and inspiration and his wife encouraged him to make the jump into the 3 year culinary training program at Johnson County Community College. Soon he quickly landed work at Pierponts as a prep cook and quickly proved himself to then Exec Chef, Patrick Williams who accepted him as an apprentice and mentored him. Chef Barnes credits him with invaluable lessons that make the critical difference in his ascension to the EC slot -"dealing with people was his forte, and I learned from him how to be fair and to listen to people which are key to kitchen management.

Striped Bass with Coriander Risotto and Roasted Tomatoes
Coriander Risotto
1 bundle, Italian Parsley  1 bundle, cilantro
2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
6 oz. yellow onion, small dice
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 c. Arborio rice
¼ c. white wine
2 ½ c. vegetable broth
¼ c. grated parmesan cheese
Salt & White pepper to taste
