The annual Thanksgiving dinner for live-aboards, employees and visitors to Turner Marine was another great success.  Thanks to all the people who work hard to give those travellers and Turner customers a chance to celebrate the blessings we have all received.  Happy Thanksgiving from us all!

Chilly Day, but lots of great food

Turner put on a great spread on everyone contributed

We also want to take this time to wish Tom West a quick recovery.  Tom and Marcia left the marina a few weeks ago and unfortunately he was involved in an accident in Pensacola and is currently recovering.  Say a prayer for him please.

Boat show coming soon:
It may be a bit early to plan, but make sure you set aside some time to go to the second annual Gulf Coast Boat Show located in Gulfport, Ms. from April 3rd-6th, 2014. Last year was a huge success with many power and sailboats on display along with lots of booths for your enjoyment and boat shopping.

2001 Fountiane Pajot Athena 38

The Athena 38's popularity in the catamaran market is attributed to great accommodations, ease of handling, and a great sailing design by Joubert/Nivelt. With the ease of handling, comfortable cruising characteristics and lots of room both below and on deck, it has become one of the most popular catamaran models in the world.

"L.A. CONNECTION", currently being upgraded, is ready for you to climb aboard, check out and make your offer. A rare boat on the gulf coast, don't miss this one. Located in Mobile, she will afford you quick access to great cruising grounds and fast entry into the Gulf of Mexico. 1976 Allied Princess Ketch
1976 Allied Princess Ketch

The Princess 36, was built by Allied Boat Company in Catskill, New York. A robust New England ketch the Princess is a comfortable blue-water cruising boat. Designed by Arthur Edmunds and first introduced in 1972, the Princess enjoyed a 10-year production run during which about 140 hulls were built, which likely makes it the most successful boat produced by Allied during its 22 years of existence (1962-84).

This example has been well taken care of and sports new hull paint complementing it's name Black Magic, in 2010.  Its Westerbeke 40, had a complete rebuild in 2012 including heat exchanger, raw water hoses and injection elbow, thermostat and pressure cap, new fuel lines, fuel filters and impeller. New exhaust system, rebuilt whaler gusher, and new Rule automatic bilge pump...and the list goes on.

"Beach House" has been excellently maintained, especially over the past two years by the current owner, who has run out of time to use the boat. Don't pass this one up as all major systems have been reviewed and insured to be in good working order.

Turner Marine has been a busy place of late.  Loopers by the dozen have come down the Tenn-Tom Waterway and love to spend a bit of restful time here before starting out on their Gulf of Mexico trek. Turner Marine, with its full service yard also means we are a great place to stop and make those necessary repairs.  Thanks to all the great visitors and we look forward to more in the coming months!

It has been a busy month for the yard personnel.  With the Loop traffic comes a lot of work for the yard.

Whether it is bottom painting a beautiful Nordic Tug 36, putting the mast on a big sailboat headed south or fixing the numerous small problems looper's may have encountered on their trip down, it is always a busy time for our yard people.

In addition, they have to keep up with the local work which also increases this time of year as sailors pull their boats for winter work.

Long story short!  Schedule now if you want something done.  See Roger Turner and get started.
