Oh, wait...  Yes, it's another rock star coming to see us on Tuesday.  Author, teacher, TV star, advisor and Gardener are just some of the stars that Nan Sterman rocks and she is coming to talk to us about removing lawns.  Wow!

Sorry this didn't get out yesterday.  I was employing IPM. My tolerance level was met and I collected 9 pounds of snails eating in my garden.  9 pounds!
Session 12 Housekeeping
Snacks
Support Group 2
is on for snacks this session.  We're looking forward to good things from Christina Callahan, Diana Drummy, Ellie Aiken, Heiki Bentz and Jeanina Manley.

Just a reminder, I have posted the group schedules (Support groups which are for snacks and exhibit, and lab groups) on the training web site, resources, handouts.

Lab Rats
Lab group 6 is up for helping set up the afternoon session. Please see Ray for instructions and be ready to work through lunch, if needed.

Exhibit Check out and set up
Support Group 3 will check out the exhibit Native Plants and set it up.  If you can't remember your Support Group number, please see either the handout that was given in Session 2 or the Support Group document on the training web site (under Resources, Handouts).  Read the exhibit documents on the training web site, Resources, Handouts

Last week the team had an unexpected surprise.  They checked out the exhibit on Tomatoes and got Citrus.  It always pays to make sure you are getting what you want.

Lunch is 1/2 hour.
Assignments
Read Chapter 11 and do the quiz.  Don't forget about the online extra from Scott on Safety.
What's Going to Happen?
MG Linda Stewart will introduce Nan Sterman who will talk about lawns, specifically how to get rid of them!
Nan will be there in the morning and the afternoon will be a hands on lab involving cutting instruments...band-aids and at least one nurse will be on hand.  But, seriously, if you have an interesting flower that you want to dissect, please bring it - along with your hand lens and clear scotch tape please.
Ask a Master Gardener
Q:
I only use organic products in my garden and landscape because they are the safer option.  Right?

Please be prepared to discuss.

WTBT
We are looking forward to presentations from
JuliAnne Arnett, Heidi Bentz, Jeanina Manley and Pamela Zuckerman.
Seminar 2016
SPECIAL REQUEST FROM THE SEMINAR COORDINATORS
Please save and bring in empty 1 gal plastic milk jugs.  The wine drinkers have done an exceptional job with the wine bottles...lets see if all you milk drinkers can bring it too!
They would like to pick them up when they visit the class on May 2.  Thanks!

Yes, please volunteer to work on this! As you know, we can use all the help we can get on this project.  If you don't know what to do, either get advice from your mentor or your Operations Team.  Just remember that you won't be able to give advice to the public, but there are MANY ways to help.

Mike Harrelson and Debbie Handal will be coming in to talk to you in a later session, but you can sign-up via Sign Up Genius (through VMS if you want) now.
If you have any questions regarding this newsletter, just hit REPLY and type your comments.  Your Class Operations team will follow-up.

Sincerely,
Your Class Operations Team:  Byron Asakawa, Ray Conser, Bob Frey, Judy MacKenzie, Mary Manaster, Scott Parker and Dawn Standke
