eSlide's Quick Tip of the Month
The Power of the RIGHT-CLICK
PowerPoint is constantly adding new features, and every new version of the software seems to require users to learn new menus to find the tools they want. This can be frustrating and time consuming, because many tools require several menu clicks to get to the exact feature you need. You can customize your toolbars, but what happens if you need to work on a different machine? This is where the RIGHT-CLICK can save you.
If you simply select a given object using your right mouse button, you will get a popup menu specifically for editing the object you selected. For instance, right-clicking a piece of text will produce a menu for changing the font, paragraph style, text color or bullet style. Right-clicking a picture will provide a menu for cropping, or formatting things like image brightness and contrast. Right-clicking a chart axis will give you options for editing data, adding grid lines or opening the format axis dialog.
So remember - rather than wasting time with complex pull-down menus or searching online help forums to find "that tool you always used" just try right-clicking on the item that you want to change!
