Keyboard Shortcut to Toggle Between Display Modes

This handy keyboard shortcut helps put what you see on your laptop onto a projected screen. Most projectors these days are "plug-and-play" - so why is it that sometimes when you connect your laptop to a projector, all you get is a black screen? Maybe your video card just needs a little reminder that it's supposed to share your screen with the projector...

On Windows, just hit Windows logo key Picture of the Windows logo key

+P to toggle between modes: Disconnect Projector, Duplicate Screen, Extend Screen, Projector Only. The best mode is typically DUPLICATE SCREEN, so what you see on your laptop display will be exactly what the audience sees on the projector.

In Mac OSX, simply hit COMMAND + F1 to toggle the display mode between using the projector as a second monitor and mirroring your laptop display to the projector (which is what you'll want).
