Hello Everyone,
There is lots to do in Historic Newburgh for the month of April. Scroll down to learn about the Girls Scouts Amazing Race on the 5th. The Downtown Merchants and the Warrick Humane Society host Easter Bunny photos. The Evansville Philharmonic Guild House Tour is on the last Saturday of April.
May 1st is the Preservation Party at the Lock Master Cottages. This is one of the benefits of being a member of Historic Newburgh, Inc. Last year we had over 100 people in attendance. We will have Cindy and Tom Nord talking about the Civil War and refreshments provided by the Historic Preservation Commission and the Historic Newburgh, Inc. Board of Directors. It s a great time for members to gather!

New Book Available at HNI Gift Shop
Julie Rosenbaum-Engelhardt, writer for Newburgh Magazine and former columnist for the Newburgh Register, Evansville Courier & Press, Evansville Living and national publications, has released her first book, "Journey Of A Lifetime: Unexpected Experiences, Anecdotes and Lessons Learned From America's Heartland." It is an eclectic collection of essays, ranging from famous athletes such as Albert Pujols and Carlos Beltran to famous rock groups, such as the Doors, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Three Dog Night. There are several essays on colorful local residents, such as Dogtown historians, plus her nostalgic take on everything from old movies to old farm families. Rosenbaum-Engelhardt, also a local actress who works with the developmentally challenged, will be conducting book signings in the near future. However, if you would like to order the book sooner, go to Lulu.com or contact her directly at gordjulie@wowway.com. My book is out and I will have signings very soon. Don Mattingly endorsed it as well as Tom Arnold, actor; Melody Yount, Manager of Media Relations, St. Louis Cardinals; Danny Hutton, Singer and Founder of Three Dog Night; and Jim Cherry, Author of "The Doors Examined" and "The Last Stage." She will also be doing a book signing at Knob Hill, March 22 at 1 pm and the Newburgh Senior Center, April 4th 12 - 2 pm. Other books available at the HNI Gift Shop Beyond the Red Door is authored by two of the Rivertown Art Gallery artists/writers, Dr. Rick Yeager and Mary Ellen Ziliak.
