Considerations for Avaya IP Office Users Migrating to Microsoft Office 365

Here at CCC Technologies, we have recently seen an influx of customers that are starting to migrate their email from a traditional Microsoft Exchange environment to a hosted Microsoft Office 365 solution. Customers that have an Avaya IP Office system running software release 9.0.1 or below and also use the voicemail-to-email feature will LOSE this feature because IP Office Release 9.0.1 and older does not integrate with Microsoft Office 365.

Avaya has released a new software version 9.1 that has TLS security. This will allow you to use the voicemail-to-email feature.

When upgrading to Avaya IP Office 9.1 please be aware the following items that are NO LONGER SUPPORTED on the IP Office Platform:

IP500 (V1) Control Unit
IP400 (all 4xx) Control Units including expansion modules and plug-in modules on the Legacy Carrier Cards.
IP400 DS16 and DS30 expansion modules
Analog Trunk 16 expansion module (ATM16)
Customer Call Reporter (CCR)
Advanced Edition
IP Office Video Softphone on Windows for new installations (Avaya recommends using Avaya Communicator). Older versions of the Mac Softphone and Windows Softphone will not be distributed by Avaya, however customers can still use them after upgrading.

If you are thinking of migrating to Microsoft Office 365 and have an Avaya IP Office please contact your CCC Technologies' Representative or 847.427.2365 before moving forward so that we may review your environment and offer recommendations to ensure that you do not lose feature/functionality.
