MDSC's two fall Buddy Walks bring people together to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month

Students from The Dance Inn's Adaptive Class just one of many entertainment options at Buddy Walk & Harvest Fair. 
 

The Lexington-based program shares the joy of dance to students ages 7-13 with special needs. Each class is designed to meet the individual needs of its students taking into account their emotional maturity, attention span, and developmental stage. The class offers instruction in tap, jazz, and creative movement. The program builds skills in fostering independence, confidence, cooperation, increasing strength and coordination, and the class allows a safe environment for kids to foster friendships, and gain self esteem. Go to the thedanceinn.com for more information.

Highlights of the 2015 Buddy Walk & Family Festival include:
  • 3 or 1.5-mile walk around beautiful Lake Quannapowitt
  • Emcee Chris McKinnon, WBZ-TV news anchor
  • Live entertainment by returning country star Ayla Brown as part of her Defend Freedom!Tour
  • Family fun performance by Karen K and the Jitterbugs!
  • Guest appearance by George Foreman III and stage performance by Boston Ballet Adaptive Dance Program
  • Complimentary snacks and refreshments!  Optional lunch for purchase during online registration.
