Upcoming events and resources for families of self-advocates, ages 13 and up

Hello!

I hope you can join us at one or both of our November AIM meet-ups!

Our first Sunday session at our home base, the Newton YMCA, will be on Sunday, November 17th. We have a great day planned for both youth and parents.

Then, on Sunday, November 24th, the 9th Annual Hockey Benefit Game will take place between the MDSC All Stars and Boston Bruins Alumni. There is a free skate, awesome raffle and auction prizes, and many opportunities to meet Bruins legends! Plus, our AIM group gets to sing the National Anthem on ice to kick off the game! This year, we'll be joined by country music star Shanna Jackman!

In addition to these events, there are lots of information sessions going on throughout Massachusetts. Please read on for all of the details.

Hope to see you soon!

Self-Advocate Spotlight

Matthew Cullen (left) and Liam Josephson (right) recently participated in a fundraiser at Ipswich pizza place, Pomodori Pizzeria. The guys, outfitted in employee t-shirts and hats, worked a 90-minute shift and then got dinner for free! Their hard work brought in $300 to the MDSC. Our big thanks goes out to Matthew, Liam, and Pomodori Pizza owner Peter Nikolakopoulos (far right).
