Climate Change Changers

Wednesday, Jan. 8th, 7:00-8:30 p.m.

"We're all in this boat together, so let's make waves!"
 
All UUs (and friends!) are invited to attend the Climate Change Changers meeting. Hear more about our work on climate issues, how you can join our efforts and have some fun with like-minded folks. If you've been wringing your hands about what to do, we have the info and materials to help you take action now! Make new friends and see old, & have a cup of cider and a cookie with us.
 
 
Also: UU Church of Minnetonka, 605 Rice St, Wayzata, MN will show the documentary "Chasing Ice" this Friday, Jan. 10, at 7pm. Everyone welcome!

MUUSJA Housing Summit
Sunday, Jan. 26th, 1:00-3:00 pm

There are at least eight Minnesota UU congregations working on housing & homelessness issues. Together we can amplify our work and advocate for policies that end homelessness and housing instability. Please join fellow UUs working towards preventing and ending homelessness so we can:

  • Network, connect & share best practices
  • Learn about 2014 advocacy opportunities
  • Develop a collaborative UU plan of action
  • Encourage each other to deepen our commitment to building the communities we want to live in!

Also: January 26th is Housing Sunday at FUS. All are invited to the forum at 9:30 and/or assembly at 10:30, focusing on housing and homelessness.

MNSure and the Affordable Care Act (ACA) are underway, and while these are positive steps towards access to affordable care, there are still significant gaps. The ACA allows states to enact further reforms (as waivers) starting in 2017. Minnesota legislators are considering a Single Payer plan. 
Come learn about Physicians for a National Health Program (PHNP) and possibilities for reform and better access to care. Panelists include current physicians in practice in Minnesota. More info in our February MUUSJA Connection.
