Please be our guest on Sunday, October 20th at the MUUSJA Fall General Meeting. Join us for our semi-annual meeting of members and friends of the Minnesota UU Social Justice Alliance and supporters of justice across the state!

We've been busy implementing our three-year Strategic Plan based on input from so many of you through our recent Appreciative Inquiry process. At our Spring Meeting, we updated you all on our progress and now we're ready for the next step: selecting new (and returning) issue & policy working groups for MUUSJA for the year ahead!
 
We are excited to also be offering a training component in our Fall Meeting, to be expanding our board connections in greater Minnesota, and to be hosting this meeting in three locations at once! See below for all the details, and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Selecting our 2013-14 issues & 
Training for effective citizen engagement 

Members, friends and supporters ~ you've contributed so much to our three year strategic plan. Now it is time to select the key issues and strategies for the coming legislative session and our year-round work for justice.

 

Come to our Fall Meeting to connect with fellow UUs and:
  • Rep. Hornstein
    Get a great training from a sitting State Legislator! "Being an effective citizen activist" with MN State Rep. Frank Hornstein. This presentation is non-partisan and direct from a state legislator
  • Get updates on our ongoing work
  • Hear presentations, discuss and vote on proposals for continuing and new issue/advocacy working groups
  • Be updated on strategic efforts for a just and equitable state & vote for new and renewing MUUSJA directors - including St. Cloud, Rochester and Duluth!
We are very excited to offer multiple locations for this Fall Meeting! Visit the location closest to you! Our host congregation is First UU Church of Rochester, but all locations will have live two-way video and audio. Rep. Hornstein will present from our Minneapolis site but will take Q&A from all three sites.
 
Pre-registration is extremely helpful (though not required). Light refreshments will be served. A free event, donations and memberships/renewals are most welcome!

Our Fall Meeting is open to all! 
Anyone interested in UU-based social justice in Minnesota is most welcome to attend. Members in good standing may vote on MUUSJA directors and any other business that may come before a general meeting. You can join or renew at registration on the 20th, or you can become a member or renew online! If you have any questions about membership, please contact us.
 
Planning to attend in Rochester?
MUUSJA Director/organizer Ralph Wyman will be speaking on the topic "Listening for Justice" at the 9am and 11am services on Sunday, Oct. 20th at First UU Church, Rochester, followed by a social justice fair during coffee hour. Please join us for this morning of reflection, learning and connection before the afternoon MUUSJA meeting!
