Greetings!
Budget & tax bills are advancing. An enhanced Renewable Energy bill is gaining traction. MUUSJA worked to help pass the original 25% by 2025 bill, and now solar is part of an expanded standard. You can help advance solar inclusion! The Will Steger Foundation is urging action, take a moment to respond. Thank you.
Our UU and MUUSJA involvement is helping gain Freedom to Marry. All eyes are on the MN House and Senate votes in the next few days! Please call your legislators today to again ask for a Yes vote! And come to St. Paul this evening for an Interfaith Vigil in support of Freedom to Marry. Details on this historic moment are below.
We're almost there. The end-of-session crush in on. Together we can Stand on the Side of Love for our fellow Minnesotans! Thank you.

Faith in public life
Nonbeliever Nation:
The Rise of Secular Americans
Saturday, June 8, 10am -2:30pm
First Unitarian Society
900 Mt Curve, Minneapolis
Today, nearly one in five Americans are nonbelievers - a rapidly growing group at a time when traditional Christian churches are dwindling in numbers - and they are flexing their muscles like never before. Yet we still see almost none of them openly serving in elected office, while Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, and many others continue to loudly proclaim the false myth of America as a "Christian nation."
In his book Nonbeliever Nation and this workshop, leading secular advocate David Niose explores what this new force in politics means for the unchallenged dominance of the Religious Right. Free event, thanks to the Bookstore at First Unitarian Society, celebrating its 10th Anniversary. FFI contact Bill Weir at 612-751-0445.

UUA GA worship
|
Are you going to General Assembly?
The annual gathering of Unitarian Universalists is an amazing experience of worship, workshops, fellowship and community. Online registration is open through June 7.
If you will be at G.A., please let us know! MUUSJA will be part of the UU State Advocacy Networks booth (#506) in the Exhibit Hall. We'd love to connect with you at G.A., and then after, to debrief all the great experiences.
There is lots of information about social justice at G.A., so you can plan ahead to get the most out of being there. We encourage you to get delegate credentials from your congregation so that you can vote on the Study-Action issue as well as up to three Actions of Immediate Witness.
