Small Groups Forming

"A Growing community making disciples who love and serve Christ and His world"

Are you wanting to connect with people at Trinity Cathedral in a deeper way?

Well, we have the opportunity for you! According to the recent survey, there was a high level of interest for small groups. As a result, a six-week series begins February 22nd ending in Holy Week. The series is based on Matthew Fox's book "Original Blessing." It will begin with the author's speaking engagement on Friday, February 20th at 7pm. The groups will begin the following week and will be available at multiple days, times and places.

Matthew Fox

Your next question may be...who is Matthew Fox?

Matthew is an Episcopal priest and he will be speaking on his book entitled "Original Blessing" which refutes Augustine's view of Original Sin. Fox argues that before there was ever sin (i.e. the eating of the apple), there was and is always blessing: "And God said, it was good."

Tickets

How do I buy tickets?

The cost of the Matthew Fox event is $12. You can purchase your ticket on the night of the event or through the Cathedral Bookshop. The phone number is: 442-9194.

Matthew Fox Event

What time does it begin?

The evening will begin at 6:30pm in the sanctuary with Jazz Pianist Brenden Lowe. Matthew will speak from 7:00pm-8:15pm with Q & A from 8:15pm-9pm. Afterwards, there will be a book signing and reception in the Great Hall.

Original Blessing

Many of you have asked: "Do I need to read the book?"

No, you do not need to read the book beforehand. The book is broken up into four sections that are entitled Paths:

The 1st Path: Befriending Creation

The 2nd Path: Befriending Darkness

The 3rd Path: Befriending Our Divinity

The 4th Path: Befriending Celebration and Transformation

Small Group Timeline
